Why bother having a goddamn battle of the bands then?
I would totally go for the idea of doing another one of these with no bands that have ever been on an NME list. Or possibly no bands that have ever produced a gold or above record.

I would totally go for doing this again in such a fashion as to make sure everyone who votes for or against anyone knows exactly what they're doing. I don't own a Radiohead album or a Joy Division album. I'm not voting.
As I said at the very beginning, the only way this works as far as I'm concerned is if it's organized like the Forced Listening Thread. People need to know what they're talking about.

The hip kids are the only reason either finalist is there. This poll lost any semblance of integrity when the Band Nobody in The Wide Fucking World Has Heard Of beat the Beatles.

Neutral Milk Hotel hasn't beaten the Beatles yet... so he HAS to be talking about Joy Division.
