Paper Doll Sculpture

Well, can't say I remember much of any reasoning behind the manufacture of this doll. But I remember this.

I wanted to make a pirate coat. So i sketched out a design on a piece of paper. Then i cut up the paper to make a paper-mockup of the coat. As the paper was quite rigid, the coat stood up. It was then that the coat took on a more dress-like form. Then i added the hands, head and elaborate bonnet.

She's quite a pretty doll now. And not one you can actually undress at all!

So, while you're looking at this, just remember:
I made this from ONE A4 sheet of paper
I used lots of sticky tape
I didn't cut any curves, only triangles and rectangles
It was a lot more fun that I expected




















now she stands atop the modem, protecting it from ... hackers of...doom, i dunno
