thrash/powerviolence recommendations
Combinethresher:
--- Quote from: jcknbl ---It would be a lot cooler if they called it "ultraviolence". At least then people might mistake it for a Burgess reference and not think the entire scene was culturally illiterate.

...but they are, pretty much. Powerviolence is metal for teenage scenesters who are scared of real metal, because real metalheads are creepy.

Combinetresher: Exactly.
On the otherhand I imagine the mindset is more: KILLE GROWL LOUD NOISES!!!!!! And less some pseudo-intellectual modernist bullshit about challenging conceptions of music. The first is mindless and dull but the latter would be embaressing.

QFT! QFT!
Also: Yacopsae, Man Is The Bastard and Fuck On The Beach (they're Japanese, they're allowed to have a stupid name).
And of course power violence is somewhat retarded, and not just because of that idiotic genre name. If you listen to Spazz and honestly think that they're 100% serious, you have a problem though.
MWhaling:
there's pretty much nothing right with this thread.
