DiG! taught me that Genesis P-orridge is a total lunatic, and therefore I must obtain that album he's on.

GPO is indeed a crazy person. he spoke at my school a few months ago and was as bizarre in person as he seems on records and during live performances and through every other medium he's ever communicated with anyone.

They let him speak at schools?

Also, I'm presuming that the number 1 record is the one that I really need to buy a lot as fast as possible. Am I correct? What should I expect from it?

well my school is pretty peculiar and the person in charge of coordinating small events was into noise.

the only one in my top five that's in print (and that i own a physical copy of) is venereology.
music for bondage performance 2 is a relatively accessible album with ambient pieces, some interesting percussive loops and other assorted oddities. it's probably the most diverse album of his that I've heard.

1. Venereology
2. Frog+
3. SUNN O))) - Flight Of The Behemoth ;)
4. V (split w/ Pan Sonic)
5. Maldoror - She (w/ Mike Patton)
6. Hard Lovin' Man
7. Mezbow loves Emil Beaulieau loves Merzbow
8. Collapse 10 Floors
9. Crash Of The Titans (split w/ Napalmed)
10. Fist Rock the Great Deceiver (split w/ Lasse Marhaug)

Out of the albums I've heard, these are the ones I can remember being somewhat remarkable.

Ack, I was just going to name 20 Susan Lawly records, but this is a kinda pre-emption. Mainly because I only have 8 just-Merzbow releases, though compilations and collaborations seem to be de rigueur. My favourite Merzbow-related release I've heard is Boris with Merzbow: Sun Baked Snow Cave.
