A Cartoon/Anime as a Live Action movie?
E. Spaceman:
TRANSFORMERS!!!!
Electric Monk:
Personally, I'd like to see America take a chance on big-screen animation with a deep anime-style plot. Animation is so undervalued in this country.
For an anime, I would love to see FLCL done in a way that would be suited to live action, but still in the same spirit. Cowboy Bebop would also be very interesting if they could do it right.
neomang5:
Bebop and Samurai Champloo would be pretty neat in a live-action version, but I think it kind of betrays the whole feeling of the anime. Sure, it would look nice, and assuming there was a good storyline behind it, be pretty kickass, but part of the reason to watch anime is the differences and similarities to reality.
Also, they've claimed to be working on a live-action DBZ since I cared about that show. What's that, 5, maybe 6 years now? I doubt that's happening.
LiterSize:
"Wicked City" was turned into a live action film, not so superior.
Great Teacher Onizuka was a live action film, and was pretty good!
Lessee.....
The Guyver, Sailor Moon... oodles of others I'm sure.

Well, think of all the domestic comics that have been made into rather "successful" movies (successful in terms of box office revenue).
Spiderman's opening week record was only topped by Pirates of the Carribean 2, Sin City was wildly popular, Superman's doing well in the theaters, etc etc.
IMO, some of the adaptations were poorly done. The Hulk wasn't anything spectacular, and neither was The Prisoner (shrug).
And I dare ANYONE, ANYONE... to find an actor to play Spike Spiegel who would meet Cowboy Bebop fan expectation.
PS: Sailormoon Live Action exists, and it was just... a hilarious flop.
