I actaully LIKE Breaking the Habit, most likely because it's the song that was playing when......well....I I got my bone on for the first time.......the back of a VW bug is really uncomfortable, by the way.

A band that I can't get behind, no matter what the song, is Opeth. I'm a metalhead, but they are WAY too growly.

Don McLean- American Pie.

Maybe it's not the worst song ever, but last night this kid was going on and on about how awesome it was, so it's kinda fresh in my mind as a pretty horrible song.

Seriously? I absolutely love that song. It's a classic.

It's like saying Stairway to Heaven is the worst song ever. That isn't going to happen. Ever.

Yeah, that "Damnation" disc is WAY too grindcore for me as well.

Sorry dude, but in Accordance to the Rules Of Metal, you are deemed extremely false. One does not dislike Opeth as a "Metalhead", and escape unscathed.

Ehhh...I probably would like them, but I've only heard one song, the others were actually Mastadon. I was later TOLD they were Opeth. I heard a few more of their songs, and I like them now. It was a missunderstanding on my friends part. Which is understandable considering he says, and I quote "I'm a Metalhead! I like Nickleback!" So yeah, metalheadedness tarnished by idiot friend. Of course, the fact that the first time I got my bone on was to Linkin Park, so I guess I'm not much of a metalhead after all.

Anyone here heard of the song "Hips don't Lie"? Of course you have. I hate it.

Worst Album Ever would be "Queen of the Damned: The soundtrack" They had a dude from Linkin Park try to do a song that was supposed to be "Gothy", but it came out as "I'm gonna bone you, whether you like it or not!" One good song on the whole damn thing.

Another song that sucks is Change(In the house of flies) by Deaftones. I fucking hate that song.

I learnt to play it because it's fun, it's good practice for some common chord changes and arpeggiations, and because it's actually fairly tricky to play well (particularly the solo, which I still can't do end to end at speed).

I don't have a problem with people who can play Stairway To Heaven. I just get cranky at the people who learn the first couple of phrases and give up then, or the ones who play it badly.

Hm. As a recovering Nu-metal listener ("Hello my name is Andrew and I listen to Nu-metal" "Hello Andrew") I have to say I like two songs on there. "Redeemer" performed by Marilyn Manson and "Slept So Long" performed by Jay Gordon of Orgy.

But yeah the song that the guy from Linkin Park really sucks. Also "I HOPE YOU DIE" is not good lyrics.

Sad really, because as far as I know these songs were by one of the guys from Oingo Boingo who has collaborated with, among others, Tom Waits. There should have been some potential.

I refuse to learn that or songs in general. That part of guitar playing where people go "OMG PLAY POPULAR SONG #644 LOL" and the person who does so becomes popular. If I learn songs, I don't play them in front of people.

the Rules Of Metal

Those rules are way too American. Leather trousers are still pretty true over here in Europe, probably second only to kilts as metal-as-fuck lower-half clothing. Same with the grammar. Plus, there's rules missing, like the 'never by halfs' rule and all its applications: Half pints and mixers are false, shots and pints are true. T-shirts are false, longsleeves and vests are true, and so on.

I've gone off Opeth quite a bit, but I've got to say seeing them live catapulted them fucking way up in my estimation. Akerfeldt is a great front-man, really funny and with an appropriately outrageous accent, and their older tunes in particular slay a hell of a lot of ass. The Leper Affinity blew me, and the six other guys I was linked arms with in a headbanging line, completely away.

"This was...good album for us. Very popular. In fact, with proceeds from this album, I buy six castles in Switzerland. It was called...Blackwater Park. You know it? Yes I thought you might. This track is the...first track from that album. it is The Leper Affinity, and if you do not headbang, you are fucking poser."

Whoever dissed The Pillows gets a dong to the face :(. I happen to like that band am an extremely biased in their favor (because they did the soundtracks to FLCL).

As for American pop music, they've been churning out a significant amount of crap since the 90s. I'll let "My Humps" slide, because it's not the worst track on the CD.

"SOS" by Rhianna is particularly annoying to hear 24/7 on the radio, in the gym, in the mall, and wherever the hell I go. I really need to get a mp3 player.

Most Metalhead's I know dislike Opeth because they aren't "heavy" enough, of course these are the sought of people who think "Apocalyptic Raids" or the "Pure Fucking Armageddon" rehersal tape are the zenith of metal or if you wanna quote that link "the ultimate".

You've got to be the first metalhead I've met with that reaction to Opeth..

Or anything by Andrew WK, really. Could one man BE any COOLER?

But if I haaaad to make a choice, I'd have to go with Honkey Tonk Badonka-Donk. I mean, before I even heard the song -- just hearing the title -- made me taste my own vomit. Or blood. One of the two.
