I posted a thread like this a while back, but now it's crunch time.

My boyfriend (casull on the QC forums...ssh, keep my secret, please?) just got home today from a three week, 1500 mile cycling trip. Our "six month" is tomorrow, and we have a date. I want to make him a great mix along with a love letter I wrote him while he was away.

So far I have:

"The Boy Who Giggled So Sweet" or "Sunny Road" by Emiliana Torrini
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie
"You've Escaped" by Aloha
"They Don't Know" by Ben Gibbard
"You Make It Easy" by Air
"You Gave Your Love to Me Softly" by Weezer
"Say You Miss Me" by Wilco
"Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer (yesh, cheesy, but I happen to be a cheesy gal.)
"Center of Gravity" by Yo La Tengo
"Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service (I used the Iron and Wine version, which happens to be "our song," on a past mix I made for him.)
"The Trapeze Swinger" by Iron and Wine (I may not use this because it's nine and a half minutes long.)

If anyone can suggest something along these lines, it would be much appreciated. (i.e. - indie rock/pop/etc., classic rock, cheesy love songs) Thanks!

Haha, unfortunately, I've used that one already. On the mix I gave him before he left, actually. You see, I played him that song and told him that it made me feel all happy and sentimental, so he learned it for me a few weeks before he left. I'm a mix fiend, and I'm poor. Blank CDs and paper are all I can afford. :) Thanks, though!

Find a copy of "The Boy Who Floated Freely" by Ramona Cordova and pick whichever song you find most fitting.

Go here for a few reasons why: http://www.myspace.com/ramonacordova

No, seriously.  Make sure to listen to "Giver's Reply," it's probably what I would pick.

Most of Eisley's Room Noises is cheesy as hell(or earnest if you want) indie pop, namely tracks like My Lovely, Just Like We Do, I Wasn't Prepared, Plenty of Paper. Most of it should fit like a glove.
This probably doesn't fit but I like Lamb - Gorecki, however this is a bit complicated triphop torch song thing. Like Portishead but more complicated.

Other(wildly inappropriate) ones:

PJ Harvey - Good Fortune
Nouvelle Vague - Melt with You(their version of Teenage Kicks is also sweet)
Cocteau Twins - Lorelei
Of Montreal - Lysergic Bliss
Feist - Tout Doucement
José Gonzalez - Remain
Stars - What I am Trying to Say
Handsome Boy Modeling School feat. Cat Power - I've Been Thinking(quite effective if you only know her solo work)
Emilie Simon - Opium(if you can find it)

If you're writing a love letter and 'Love Letter' by Nick Cave isn't on there, you're going to hell. If you don't have it, add me to MSN.

I for one love that "Do You Realize??" lyric.  It's very liberating to know that, in my opinion.  I think that's about as happy and positive a song as it gets.

No, but the idea that you should live for the moment and appreciate what/who is around you is. In my humble opinion.

"Baby Blues" by The Stills is a good one.

And I second "Do You Realize?" The song is awesome.

Emilana Torrini is absolutely incredible.  If I had to choose between the two tunes you listed I'd go with Sunny Road.
