Some things are just meant to be mocked...

...one of them being the American tendency for so-called "Mothers Against Whatever" crusades, usually against a type of music or recent trend.

After weeks of buzz the lengthy online discussions about the veracity of the "Mothers Against Noise" organization, comes the dropping of one of the bombs and the conclusion of an idea hatched when the "MAN" concept began spreading on the net after being planted in a few selected places. An idea that consisted quite simply of spreading and riding an online viral wave of hype.

As such, we annouce the release of the first instalment (and hopefully not last) of a series of FREE downloadable noise/industrial/idm/breakcore music compilations tentatively titled "Mothers Against Noise".

We hope you enjoy the "Mothers Against Noise" compilation series and that its contents will make you interested enough to discover more about these genres of music.

We were contacted by supposedly 'concerned mothers' who offered to host our site for free, and registered our domain names without our permission. We took them up in good faith. Little did we know that they were in fact noise fans pretending to be mothers, they changed some of our writings from our website then spread it around the internet as a joke. After a week they turned it into a website promoting Techno and Rap music. And if that wasn't bad enough they now are trying to discredit our movement by making absurd claims about who we are. We have NO connection with these people and would never use this platform for anything except a public service. We are sorry for any confusion this causes and shows a how low these people will behave. May this be a lesson for us all

I like to consider myself a fairly well informed individual, but this is the first that I've heard of a musical style referred to as "Noise." I guess that I'll have to come up with another term now to refer to Rap "music."

To some critics of my work, they call it "alarmist", "negative", "ignorant".

This was posted six months ago on an Israeli Noise forum, and one of the members (and a noise musician) did a little research and came up with those.
