Are you serious? Phantasm is the best Batman movie ever made.

Maybe it's because I prefer, you know, depth to my superhero.

I don't know how else to explain it. That is one of my favorite films ever.

Maybe if the Phantasm weren't so contrived, convoluted, and downright stupid it would've been better. Or maybe if it were actually an origin story instead of a shitload of flashbacks showing Bruce Wayne to be a whiny bitch.

Return of the Joker has ten billion times more depth and cements the Joker as the single greatest and most evil villian that Batman has ever fought. The Joker in Phantasm was just a throwaway villian. Meh.
