the only thing i really have to add to this discussion is that when i FINALLY got to see Pixies live they bookended their set with the fast and slow versions of "Wave of Mutilation" which is tied among 8 others for my favorite song of theirs.


I regret not bringing a second pair of pants to that concert.

also, if you manage to find a recording of their show at Newport's Folk Festival, jump on it like a cat on heat. They played a completely acoustic set which is tem million cubic fucktons of distilled awesome
