So, uh, how about that Avatar show?

I doubt a lot of people watch it here, but I recently started watching this American-written anime called 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' that airs on Nickelodeon. A friend of mine recommended it to me and at first I was sceptical (American anime? Nickelodeon? OMGTEHSUCK) but I watched a couple of episodes and, well, it's just REALLY GOOD.

This is the show that things like Naruto and Bleach should have been. It's surprisingly adult for a show with a 6-11 demographic. I am absolutely hooked on this show now. It also has it's advantages that it's a made-for-TV story in that it can have a conflict and resolve in every episode yet still follow a main plot. Also, the animation is top notch having a bigger budget than shows made in Japan.

Anyone watch it? I really recommend it. It's like equel parts Princess Mononoke, Captain Planet and Neverending Story with a good deal of mythology and martial arts thrown in.

Man I love that show, I look forward to watching old episodes of it and I hate to miss new ones.

I really never thought anything that good could have come out of Nick but I have watched it and loved it ever since it began.

Probably the best American anime-imitation I've seen. I don't really watch it very often though, so I like to catch an episode even when I have no idea what is going on.

Goddamned good.

I never expected good American anime, but Nick has surprised me.

Excpet it to be cancelled within a year like Zim.

Nope, Nickelodeon ordered a Season 3 already and it's a consistently high ratings performer.

So I'm happy!

I caught the first "marathon of 14 episodes. I was doing something on the computer, and just planned on watching on while I did whatever it was on the comp. I watched all 14. I thought it was awesome.

I lost all my faith in Nickelodeon when they cancelled Are you Afraid of the Dark? I heard Avatar was one of the best Nicktoons but I have yet to see an episode
