im glad you are sticking to your guns and defending your tastes in music. i happen to despise most of what you love, but its cool if you like it, and its also cool if you wish to explore other genres. but there is one problem. not a single one of those bands you listed is in any way emo, and every single time you use that term, it is insulting. sure, you may be angsty, but you are in no way a genre of music that was pretty much strangled to death in the mid nineties.

as well, there is no way that you could decide whether or not you like bands like mogwai, bss, or the arcade fire from random 30 second samples. you may want to try a little harder. who knows, maybe even go so far as to look them up on myspace.

and please, if not for ours, then for your own sake, stop refering to yourself as a genre of music.

Now, I would like to start off with this one statement: STOP ABUSING THE WORD "EMO". I could give you a long history of the term, and the genre, "emo", making references  to Rites of Spring and the like. That would be boring, and I've stopped long ago trying to change the majority of scenester trend-followers into educated scenester trend-followers. But stop throwing the word around like you know what it means.

Secondly, none of the music you listed is emo, emocore, screamo, or any other weird emo derivitive I am not familiar with (xXpost-punk hardcore emo electronicaXx does not count, sir). Most of the bands you listed are pop, pop-punk, or punk-rock. This is all fine and dandy, but it is certainly not emo. In subsequent posts, you said you only used the word "emo" to define the music you listen to. This is not the case.

I will stop now, as I believe by this point I am repeating myself. It is late, and I am no good at ranting. Goodnight, sir.
