Cursive and Oh no! Oh my!
Kai:
I've only heard The Ugly Organ, but it is pretty neat.
ComfortEagle:
Honestly, it's a band. They made some artistic choices, get over it.
charlesegabel:
--- Quote from: FreshJive787 ---bullshit, happy hollow defies all that cursive was at its core. they lost their cello player and added a horn section, its lyrics are far from what cursive was in previous albums.
i dont mind it when bands take a new direction but it seems like tim took too much influence from stuff he was doing in the good life and trying to translate it to a rough version of cursives style.
--- End quote ---
I don't think you're being very fair. The cello was on one record. Just the one. What about Storms of Early Summer? How about Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes? Domestica, anyone? As far as it sounding like Good Life, I don't know where you're getting that. Listening to songs like "Big Bang," "Flag and Family," "Dorothy Dreams of Tornadoes," and the lead single ("Dorothy At Forty") all seem to have that grim, somber almost-insanity and bitterness that characterizes Cursive. Good Life is far more relaxed and reflective in the songs. If you're calling out " Into The Fold," yes it sounds like some Good Life, songs, but it's a 14 song record; not that big of a chunk. Also, that is a good song.
Spinless:
I am not talking about Cursive right now. It would not be funny.
ComfortEagle:
Well the Oh no! Oh my! show is tonight, im excited, and I really hope they have shirts and cds on sale...
