Great Cover(s)

<< < (5/15) > >>

elcapitan:
The Herd's version of A Walk In The Light Green (I Was Only Nineteen). They put together a cover for Triple J's Like A Version show, but it became so damn popular that they recorded a video and added it to repressings of their album The Sun Never Sets. I saw them play on Wednesday night, and this was an absolute highlight.

The Original.
The Cover.

Ravenbomb:

--- Quote from: Valrus ---I know it's obvious, but Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah." I just heard the original recently, and it must have taken a brilliant musical mind to realize that there was a great song buried in that shit.
--- End quote ---

Did Jeff Buckley's version come before John Cale's or after? Because I've heard it both ways

southern_dan:
clair bowdwiths (spelling) cover of fall at your feet by the finn brothers blew me away, first heard it sitting in my hotel room up north, been in love with it ever since.

come to think of it the whole cover album "she will have her way" is fantastic, i recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good mix of female vocals.

This is going to piss someone off but...

I adore the Cardigan's cover of Iron Man. They turn it into this sad, wonderfully human pop song. I shiver listening to it.

Scytale:
Opeth's version of Remember Tomorrow, I've heard a lot of shitty Iron Maiden cover's but this is easily the best. Mikael's vocals are simply amazing.
