I fully endorse Art Brut and Camera Obscura (though I'd recommend getting Underachievers Please Try Harder first). I also must insist that you purchase a copy of Lonely People of the World, Unite! by Devin Davis.
I'm not talking to just the original poster here, that goes for ALL of you people.
Also, byebyepanda, I am currently digging Okkervil River and I think they would fit in quite well with the stuff you apparently enjoy listening to.

I saw them play last night, purely on spec (haven't got around to checking out their music until now). Holy fuck are they awesome live.
