Um... I also heard that the Greeks invaded Troy in a wooden horse.

Y'know?

A... a long time ago?

Actually though, that's cool.  Modest Mouse is pretty cool.  They make o.k. music.  It makes me happy.

Aww shucks, Modest Mouse = goodness, love and happiness, The Smiths =  kitten murder, infant rape, terrorism etc.
But I guess it couldn't be ;amer than Good News for People Who Love Bad News (its not ironic when its true, fellas!)

Marr is awesome and so is Modest Mouse. So it's all good

Marr's "Web of Guitarlines" style is going to be pretty strange to hear along with the Modest Mouse Twangathon. But should be good

You can see he's serious by the lack of coherency.

Also, I think he tried to call GNFPLBN 'lame'. I think we should all harrass him until he apoligizes and admits he's a fool.
He also used the words 'love and happiness' to describe Modest Mouse.

I'm a little concerned about this. I find that Modest Mouse is at their best when their most spiteful and pungent (aka Lonesome Crowded West era Mouse). I must say I was rather dissapointed by The Moon and Antartica, though I loved GNFBWLBN. And though I love the Smiths, I don't like this matching, as this will mean Modest Mouse will be more mopey as opposed to more pissy on their future releases.

Maybe Morrissey can initiate rivalry, and Marr goes into pissy mode and has his geetar reflect that. Yeah? Yeah?

I dunno, Marr's guitar is not mopey, but often the opposite. The mopey part of The Smiths was Moz.

I'm still unsure about what to think of this.  I'm a huge Modest Mouse fan, but I'm not very familiar with Marr's work (gasp!), pretty much all I've heard is a few Smiths songs.  I'm hoping for the best, though.

I think it'll work. A lot of the guitar on GNFPWLBN was pretty reminiscent of Johnny Marr. A more chilled out relaxed Johnny Marr.

I like most of Modest's albums. I was pretty mad when Jeremiah left the band feeling as if the days of Lonesome Crowded West, and This is a Long Drive for someone with nothing to think about, were over. Now this means they can play their old stuff  =) Too bad no more small clubs =(

I thought Modest Mouse has been mopey since...forever. Ever since they exist. Don't get me wrong, i love MM lots, but i mean look at the lyrics. Sometimes they are angry, sometimes they're happy, but the mopey-ness is crystal clear in a lot (a lot) of their songs. How could they be the awesome "rising from mopey-ness" band they are if they weren't mopey to begin with?

rising from mopeyness:
a)To rise up after moping around.

b)To rise from mopey-ness. eg: To stop moping.
