Between the Buried and Me is not death metal in the slightest. And really, nothing Soilwork has done in the past few years has been worth squat. I'm assuming Simple Plan is just a joke.
But the rest of that list is pretty good. I'd add Kamelot and Angra to the power metal list.

Huh, I thought they rather fit the criteria from what I'd heard, and hella blast beats. But do share what you know that I don't. And I agree about Soilwork, I was refering more to old or mid Soilwork. Their latest CD might as well be metalcore, which is sad. And ah! I knew I was forgetting some bands. Thanks, added.
Oh, and yeah, Simple Plan was a joke.

They are fucking math metal, they are no where near hardcore, or death metal.
