Virgin Music Festival: Baltimore

There are two tents so there is generally a choice between artists. When I cross out all the artists I'm not going to see the list starts to look quite good (at least in my opinion).

The Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Who
The Killers
Flaming Lips
The Raconteurs
Gnarls Barkley (part of their set)
Scissor Sisters
Thievery Corporation
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
New Pornographers
Drive-by Truckers
Kasabian
Brazilian Girls
Wolfmother (I'll see part of their set)

Plus I'll see RJD2.

Like I said, its definitely got that corporate indie feel to it. Basically it sounds like whoever is in charge reads a whole lot of NME. But Thievery Corporation and the New Pornographers are actually great and the Flaming Lips are supposed to put on a hell of a show. Gnarles Barkley is probably overrated but they're not bad. Wolfmother is terribly unoriginal but fun. CYHSY has been discussed a whole lot on this forum. I think their pretty good though despite being insanely overhyped.

You do realize that actual hipsters wouldn't be caught dead at this show right? Its a music festival manufactured by huge corporation... what about that is consistent with indie sensibilities?

I'm seeing 23 bands for $1 less than Virgin Fest at 5 different concerts. Not to mention the fact that the bands I'm seeing are infinitely better.

I saw that, and I was like "Wow, my sister goes to school in Baltimore, I should tell her about it because it looks pretty cool." Then she saw what I didn't and that's the fact that tickets are a hundred bucks. Sad face.
