Explain innuendo in rap to Clara
« on: 04 Oct 2006, 22:56 »

Dear Clara,

The "it" in "drop it like it's hot" has two possible meanings.

1) the "beat"
2) your bottom (towards the ground)

Thank you for your time.

Apparently, 'skeet skeet skeet' means to ejaculate on a woman's face.

That's about the extent of my knowledge of rap-speak, thankfully.

Dear Jo-jo,

My bottom? (Of what?)

Can I also submit that one London Bridge song for analysis? I have thought of all the allusions I can, but I seriously never even really got the game (it's about the black death or something?) and I am just not getting it I think.

<3,
Clara

Clara. Clara, Clara.

Your bottom is your bum! Your posterior! Your "caboose"!

CRITICAL ANALYSIS:

LONDON BRIDGE = ???

This is the best our scientists have been able to come up with.

As mentioned in "Rapper's Delight", "super sperm" is a type of sperm that is immune to fire, extreme cold, and radioactivity.

When rappers say something is “bad,” they often mean that it is good.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS:

LONDON BRIDGE = a dance move slash vague sexual innuendo?

As revealed by the lyrics

"All my girls get down on the floor,
Back to back, drop it down real low."

we can see that the titular bridge is in fact a dance move in which two females stand back to back and drop their bottoms (or posteriors or derrierres or bums) to the ground, thus replicating a sort of bridge shape. Of course, in accepting this meaning one should not neglect the presence of sexual innuendo in the words "wanna go down" which are repeated throughout the chorus, and which possibly allude to oral sex.

Saying "unh" and "yeah" over someone else's track is a magic spell that will grant you enduring celebrity after their untimely demise.

Considering “My Humps” and “London Bridge,” the only conclusion I can draw is that Fergie is the Shakespeare—the undisputed master of the artform—of coming up with totally unappealing terms for her body and then repeating them ad nauseum.

I can’t wait to hear what kind of horrid slang she comes up with next to repeat over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over…

I... I always thought she was just refering to her pants as her "London Bridge".

I definitely can't be arsed checking this but, from memory, My Humps is entirely written by one of the original members of Black Eye Peas.

I didn't think much could make that song more annoying, but the idea that Fergie's happily singing about how great her tits are (like they're tumours) because some guy in the band wrote the lyric for her, actually makes me hate it more...

It's one of the most obnoxious changes in sound in a long while, the jump from their second album to the one with Shut Up...  Not that I liked the first two albums much, but they weren't embarrassing.  Friends would play them alongside Jurassic 5, Ugly Duckling or whatever other soft hip-hop business and their sound would a) not be out of place and b) not make me chunder.

Ugh, my school's radio station has a no-obscene lyrics rule, which is fair enough, it is a school after all. But what I find really irritating is that "My Humps" is played on it every day. Repeatedly.
Now, this wouldn't be a problem, I don't usually listen to radio anyway, but they have it playing in the corridors.
I can't get over the fact that it isn't considered innapropriate for school. Because, you know, the inneundo is so subtle they probably don't even understand the girl is talking about her chest.

"Skeet" in it's verb form, means to ejaculate, not necessarily onto a woman's face.

"Skeet" can also be used as a noun to mean the semen itself.
