Bingo. Drugs can enhance group music experiences such as concerts, clubs and festivals, but only in the same sense that candles, saxophones and chocolate body paint can enhance lovemaking. The thing in question is already transcendental - you're merely fine-tuning the experience.

The Knife is an excellent group with techno influences, though they define themselves as "Emotional Electronic Pop".
You could also check out Mindless Self Indulgence, a popular band with influences of techno, pop, punk rock and hip-hop. Also, Skinny Puppy and Ohgr are classic industrial artists.
