Hey. Damn...I haven't posted anything here in froigen ages. Anyway...some of you may not know this but this band - 'the panda band'...are awesome. They've just released their debut album called 'This Vital Chapter'. I can't stop listening to this album...I think it's fantastic. Any fans of the beatles or Of Montreal or even Supper Furry Animals would love this band. It stands in a similar trend to The Beatles but beats it with 21st century originality. Anyway...some of you would know all about them...but I'm just here spreading the word.

Carry on people!

...do it

*le sigh*
That really looks like spam, but the man speaks truth.
The Panda Band are from Perth. They sound like The Flaming Lips sometimes. 'Eyelashes' is a really good song ("Jesus I'm like you an only son/Only I ain't coming back when I am done"). Like me, they have an unhealthy obsession with Brisbane band The Grates. Unlike me, they write songs about the members ("Alana" and new single "Ghosts Have the Best Time"). They are nice people and I'm technically on their street team. I'm not sure when their album is released outside of Australia or when they will e-mail me with publicity stuff.

i love their song 'sleepy little deathtoll town'. But then again it was the first song of theirs I heard (on their demo cd, not the debut). I dunno why but the demo version somehow appeals more to me than the album recording. Could just be me.

I'm also a fan of the panda band. My favourite track on the album is Musical Chairs, its kinda tiding me over until the next Shins album.

Photos I took. They've got better live (i reviewed them somewhere)... they're a real fun band. Kate Steele from Little Birdy does backup vocals on their new album and they've been touring with her brother's band, The Sleepy Jackson (who sometimes sound like the Pands with a bigger budget, which is a good thing)

*waves* I haven't been here in ages

Not bad stuff, I kind of liked the track that they put on their website, and I can't wait to hear more from them.

WIN PANDA STUFF! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! FREE STUFF!

This isn't spamming because I really like the Pandas. And you can win things! Like an EP that ISN'T about a member of the Grates! And the album, which is very good!

Yep! And if you click that link you can WIN not only tickets, but an Exploders LP and Dirty Secrets EP and tour poster!
I'm not sure why you'd want the non-Panda prizes, since they seem like pretty straight up rock and roll. But you can win them!

sorry for the spammyness, but a. i really love this band and b. this is the first comp i've set up, so I want people to show the Pandas love

I just found out that Guitar Wolf are playing the same day as the Pandas here, so i'm going to have to skip the show... seen the Panda Band twice and missed Guitar Wolf last time. and Guitar Wolf are playing with Mach Pelican
