ok i thought i may as well start this now, they are in no way serioius, in fact winning one for a band is probably a bad sign but feel free to post any others that i don't think of because this is only what i can think of off the top of my head... (if you really want ot we can vote in december)

so nominations

The Smash Up - for using the word "ignoramus" in a song
Metallica - for the annoucement that their new album in 2007 would be "a return to our roots" (for those of you who don't know this is what they said about st anger)
dresden dolls - for describing a sex change as "leaves you feeling very hollow"
guns n roses - where to start, i think someone on these boards (fucked if i can go and find it) said it best when they said, the problem isn't so much that slash, izy and duff arn't in the band so much that axl is
Rammstein - being sued by a cannibal who claims they used his crime as inspiration for a a song (Mein Teil)
not a band but
The Islamic Mobilization and Propogation - for protesting the celebration of freddie mercury's birthday on the basis that he was gae

Nobody protested over Mozart's birthday, though. Or really paid it much notice. My monocle fell to the ground, I tell you what.
