--- Quote from: tommydski on 16 Nov 2006, 22:22 ---Curiously, I've always found that Britain is too small to have serious regional variation and I've encountered the same thing. For every Kharbevnor (eg - literate, well aware of the roots and hallmarks of each subset of the heavier end of rock) there seems to be maybe ten thousand kids who read Kerrang! and consider Punk, Emo, Goth and Metal to be the same thing. This is on the one hand pure ignorance on their part but also a result of the hegemony these bands must adopt in order to make a push for the mainstream.

This is the reason I feel like crying whenever I go to a metal concert, or read metal forums.

Yeah thats me about 2 years ago :) I'm wearing my (Female) flat mates jacket...

Dunno how metal the photo is, if you squint you can see my copy of "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" and a few Darkthrone album on top of my PC...

BeoPuppy:
Wow. You don't look at all like a little grey ambassador from the planet IX.

Scytale:
*Dune Nerd*

Scytale never came from Ix, in fact there were no Ixians in "The Conspiricy" as far as I can remember Ix doesn't play a major role in Dune until "God Emperor" (book 4). He was one of the Bene Tleilax, not an Ixian, so I've always assumed he came from the Tleilaxu planet Bandalong. Either that or he was grown in an tank on a highliner somewhere.

Oh and Scytale wasn't the ambassador, Edric was, Scytale was just he's advisor (or as I like to think of it the mastermind behind the whole conspiricy)

... And only the Master's are grey and Elfin, Scytale was a Face Dance (he could assume various guises) at least in Dune Messiah anyway, its one of the things that really bug me about the last two books, how the hell does a Face Dancer end up beccoming a master anyway...

BeoPuppy:
You know, there is a word for people like you ...
