I'll listen to Afghan Whigs, then. The Twilight Singers are coming to Australia. Worth seeing?

Boys and Girls in America has grown on me... when i first got it I dismissed it, but it gets better with familiarity... like the rest of his stuff is alot on the wordplay and wit, so once the surprise of that is gone then you can start getting sick of it. But BAGIA has that 'classic rock radio' thing where Southtown Girls comes on and you just kinda half-sing along to it every time it comes on, like a Journey song.... alot more accessible.
Chillout Tent annoys me most of the time, though, and Massive Nights is kinda shallow. Actually, half the album is pretty shallow, but its familiar and just... GOOD in a solid way, and then you get genius like the first 3 songs, Party Pit, Citrus... alright, half the album.

I also fucking hate the Hold Steady

well said, i agree completly. i find the music boring and the lyrics grating. as far as i can tell, after several listens, this album is truly nothing special. i simply don't understand the hype.

and a 50 best list with no gulag orkestar???

Half way through my ears told me to listen to Afghan Whigs instead.
That's my personal recommendation.

This is a good recommendation no matter the situation.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

You are a good man.  I am going to pay extra to have it imported because they are not big enough to have a North American distributer yet.
