Length or Girth? the age old question...
« on: 31 Jan 2007, 15:11 »

Now in light of me starting to play FFVII (I know its kinda old but I felt compelled so please NO SPOILERS or I will hunt you down and defenestrate you...) I must ask myself: Buster Sword or Masamune? I always stood by the length arguement but seeing just how cool the Buster is I have had to rethink this...along with the physics of Cloud's strength! Any thoughts/opinions? (To repeat: I have only just finished the temple of the ancients so please no spoilers)

Dude, check the stats and materia slots.

Besides, shouldn't you have gotten something WAY better than those two at that point?

Yeeeaaah... you should at least have the Nail Bat or some other better weapons.

You do know that certain weapons are better than others?

Nail bat is in Junion store on Disk 2 IIRC.

I personally like the look of the RuneBlade. It just looks cool.

Also.

It's not the size that counts, it's how big your penis is.

Duh.

See, i thought this would be some deep discussion on whether longer games were better/worse than short games with more stuff to do (kinda like Morrowind is wide, but short)

Alas, no.

Daggerfall was Long and Wide.  Pretty much to play it is to have an orgasm... then you have a smoke, then it crashes cause the game was less stable than, the World Trade Centers(too soon?  ok fine, less stable than any of Lindsay Lohan's relationships).

Yet none of it matters if you spend the hour and a half to get all of the hints from the chocobo sage and another hour to make a gold chocbo.

Then you can get Knights of the Round and the rest of the game becomes kind of a joke.

Wait a minute isnt the Masamune Sephiroths sword? How did you get that? and isnt the Buster sword like the worst weapon in the game?

Defeat Ultimate Weapon, get ultima weapon. Destory Ruby Weapon, get ruby, realise it's useless because you already spent 10 hours getting a gold chocobo. Get underwater materia, destroy emerald weapon, just for bragging rights. Ride chocobo to little island in corner of map, get knights of the round, beat final boss in just a few turns.
Do you have that 'double cut' thing yet? Go get that. useful!

I think he was talking aesthetically, as the Masamune is Sephiroth's sword.

As in 'which looks cooler'.

You guys are thinking of the Murasame, that's the katana cloud gets. In Wutai I think?

...thank you so much...I have been talking hypothetically from the begging and now realise that not stating that was, perhaps, misleading. I was thinking along the lines of 'If I could have a sword then would I go for something like the buster sword (ie huge but kind of short) or the masamune (ie incredible range but thin)'...The subject seems to float like a rock...
