Search turned nothing up, so if this thread has been made already, I apologize.
I had my (somewhat small) metal library on shuffle the other day, and a thought occurred to me. There are two levels of metal in and of itself.
Reading magazines like Guitar Player and whatnot, I realize that metal can be split into many groups; Speed Metal, Black Metal, Nu Metal, Death Metal, Thrash Metal, etc.
But it occurred to me that there is a very large distinction; one kind of metal (Metallica, Pantera, etc.) can be enjoyed at any time, anywhere. There is a second group (Lamb of God especially) that one must be in a truly metal kind of mood to enjoy.
Has anybody else noticed this, or am I just weird as hell in how I listen to my music?
