Baking is a craft!

Caiphana:
Well, here's my basic cookie recipe:

2 1/2 cups flour (if your dough's too sticky, add more 1/4c at a time.)
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs (sometimes less, depending on egg size. I always add the eggs last.)
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c sugar
1 c butter (melted in the mic with the brown sugar. It makes it better IMHO (and gets rid of any of those hard brown sugar clumps. Don't pour hot butter over eggs. It'll cook the eggs.)
a splash of milk
1 tsp salt

When it's all mixed together, I pop it in the freezer for ten or fifteen minutes, mix again to make sure the consistency is alright, and add whatever I need to to make the cookies I want. Then I grease my sheets, drop the cookies out in 3-2-3-2-3 style, pop in the preheated oven (375 F) for five to eight minutes, and viola.

Brotheridge:
You have all inspired me!

I have never baked before but today I made cakes for my girlfriend after seeing some of the awesome ones here.

Not a bad first attempt, eh?

--- Quote from: Gemmwah on 29 Sep 2007, 18:40 ---It is actually rather nice, but there is so much buttercream that I felt rather sick after eating it.

Although that might have something to do with my sister daring me to eat an entire dessert spoon full of the stuff... Blaurgh.

Yeah, buttercream is the kind of stuff to be taken in moderation. I can't eat very much of it either.
