POKEMANS
Storm Rider:
I ordered it on bestbuy.com and got 2-day shipping, so depending on whether they wait until Sunday to ship it, I'll get it on Tuesday or Wednesday. It will consume me and probably cause me to fail calculus.
Melodic:
Picking Diamond up tomorrow (although that's subject to change depending on availability..). Still undecided which of the ugly starter types to choose.
Ally:
The water one looks cute.
Okay after looking at wikipedia, things I'm excited about:
- I can play as a girl. YAY. She's so cute, too.
- Munchlax, hahahah.
- Being terribly confused by all of the Pokemon that I won't recognize.
- Er, I don't know. Just wasting a lot of time.
I didn't preorder so I'll probably get mine next weekend.
Storm Rider:
I'm usually a Fire-type starter, but I haven't seen any of the new starters.
EDIT: I've looked up the three starters, and I'm now trying to decide between the Water and Fire types. Grass/Ground has way too many weaknesses. I have to decide between the weaknesses of Fire/Fighting and Water/Steel and which are more of a liability.
Yakob:
Fire/Fighting: 7 Strengths, 4 Weaknesses (Rock is super-effective against Fire but weak against Fighting, so it cancels out to an extent)
Water/Steel: 5 Strengths, 4 Weaknesses (Fire cancels out)
Grass/Ground: 7 Strengths, 5 Weaknesses including a double weakness to Ice (Water cancels out)
So yeah, the grass guy is out. Out of the other two, there's not a HUGE difference. It's what type of Gyms are near the start of the game that really depends on how hard (or easy) early gameplay will be. Near the end you'll have more of a variety of Pokemon to choose from.
If I get one of the games (and a DS, for that matter), I'll probably choose the fire guy (no matter how ugly it is).
