the katamari craft-off!

(1/3) > >>

seibei:
hey guys,

a long time ago my friend Amy and I decided to do a Katamari Craft-Off. Here was her present for me:

a cross-stitched Kuro! I about crapped myself. It took me awhile, but here was my gift to her:

Opeo pushing a big collage katamari! Here's a detail shot:

I painted the background and just destroyed many an issue of Rolling Stone, SPIN, and Giant Robot to get the desired result.

About a month ago, she sent me this, and began Round Two. I'm not sure if I can top this:

There are more photos at my Flickr and also at my blog.

Yes, that's a sculpted, magnetic katamari with a little sculpted Prince and little sculpted magnetic items that attach to the katamari. HOLY MOSES. I am kicking around a few ideas as to how to respond, but all I know is that it's got to be gooooooood.

ampersandwitch:
You could make her a katamari necklace.
I found these little Italian beads that look just like katamaris - if you could find those around, it would be simple to make a little clay Prince or something an put that in the middle.
Also, I've always wanted to make a huge, plush Columbo.  He looks cuddly.
There's always the plan of making the King out of bread, though.

Emaline:
I love Katamari!

yelley:
i bought a cheap fabric purse from target and am working on embroidering the prince pushing a katamari on it and the words 'my, earth really is full of things' across the top.

slowly working. okay, so work has ceased for a while. it'll get done someday...

Narr:
Perhaps make a planet and title it one of the random styles of planets that is in the actual Katamari games.

It's the only thing I can think of at this point.  That's pretty hard to outdo.
