So it is time for me to post my annual Coachella thread.  Who is going to the West Coast's greatest Indie music event of the year?  I must say this year's line up doesn't look as good as last year's but it still isn't shabby.

Rumor has it that The Arcade Fire and The Decemberists will be playing at the same time forcing people to choose one or the other. I hope it isn't true.

If I had to pick I'd take The Decemberists but I'd really like to see both.  Hopefully this is just a rumor.

VNV Nation is fuckin' awesome, I've seen em a few times here/in Germany already, and they're playing Infest at the summer so I'm not too bummed to be missing them at Coachella. They put on a great festival show, just looked a bit out of place on the line-up.

I'm pretty excited for the at Coachella, my friend was talking about how pumped he was on seeing them hear so I promised him I'd make sure I caught their show in California! I'm pretty pumped for The Rapture, Girl Talk, Blonde Redhead, Air, MSTRKRFT and many more!

Tool did play but so did Iron & Wine. 

I don't recall Iron & Wine being at Coachella last year.

As far as Tool playing last year, the tools who were watching that show missed out on an awesome Art Brut show (and a pretty kick ass Scissor Sisters show from what I was told).  While festivals can be great fun, picking one act over another can be a pain sometimes.

Haha, that would be the infamous golden thong show.

The Scissor Sisters had a pretty long delay due to technical difficulties, during which Jake Shears stripped down to a golden thong and danced to entertain the crowd.

So, is anyone going to Pitchfork?

I'll be at Pitchfork... I've already gotten the tickets, now I am just working on convincing my cousin to let me crash at her place for a few days so we don't need to get a hotel again this year (we are taking the http://www.megabus.com from Detroit so we re trying to do the entire trip on the cheap!!)

Coachella 2007 is going to be worth all two grand I'm pouring into the trip out to California. And with forty-eight something hours before the festival commences, I am dripping with excitement.

I am saddened that many of the acts I want to see are going to be overlapping each other. As I saw from the website: VNV Nation is going to be playing the same time as Rage Against The Machine, The Arcade Fire vs Decemberists, etc. It'll be interesting to see where fans loyalties lie.
