Reason Why I Don't Like Pitchfork

Wow.  I dunno I realized why I dislike pitchfork today.  Minus the given fact that they are pretentious snobs (which is a given).

this line:

"Their record is as hard to get worked up about as it is easy to like."

talking about Young Galaxy who I have very little ties to as I heard them only the first time today.  So it isn't like making fun of a band who I am invested in.

If something is easy to like isn't that something to praise?  I dunno.  Let the flaming begin.

Hey, this thread. I didn't miss you.

Now there's a name for a band. Are there any bands called the Dynamics? If not, why not?

jeph

guys where can i find more bands with dynamics in their songs

like maybe their songs would start off all quiet and gradually get more and more rockin' loud

that would be awesome

I had this wild and totally rockin' idea for song dynamics the other day. Get this: you'd have the verses all quiet, right, but then without warning BAM! The chorus would be really loud. Like, not just loud, but fucking LOUD. And then - this is the crazy part - you'd go back to quiet again for the next verse. So it's, like, quiet, loud, quiet. Man, that's never been done before!

jeph

oh man

i think you just blew my mind

seriously my brain just got a blowjob from the words and concepts you put in that post

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the slint EP...what ever you do i wouldn't get spiderland...it's just caving into the peer pressure of these indie kids...and then you wouldn't be indie would you
and my ears are wearing head phones
they do play my favorite songs
not music i'm told to like
but the songs that make me dance along

Have you heard of this band, uhm...Blowing Up in the Air?? Err...Explosions in the Wind?? Shit. Well anyway they're really good. Some online web comic guy kept talking about them and I finally got some of their albums and they're amazing. Dynamics up the wing wong, spilling out the mouth.

Seger's pitchfork review of Funhouse was full of praise, but then again, he DID contribute most of the album, so what do you expect?

One day ends and another begins and we're never none the wiser.

Would anybody get it if I abbreviated "ibtl" to "i"?

If you fight fire with fire, you will just make a bigger fire. Yes.
But if you fight fire with crystals, and ice bulbs, you will put the fire out and the crystals will turn to diamonds!

Yeah but KJS used "in b4" so I decided I'd better throw him a bone.

Look what we are talking about here. What does this thread do to people.
