Did anyone else see this movie? I bought the DVD awhile ago from Best Buy, but I wasn't sure what to make of it, other than it had Errol Flynn, and Olivia De Haviland on the cover. Sure i coul dhave rented first, but A true movie fan make smany impulse buying decisions when it comes to DVDS.
I almost feel ashamed that a movie made over sixty years ago is so much better than the tripe we're getting nowadays. I loved ever minute of this movie. Flynn is a great "dashing" hero, and Basil Rathbone is a great Evil, conniving villain. We have three in the movie, scheming Guy of Gisbourne (Basil) the Incompetent sherrif, and an affete Prince Jon (who I beleive is played by Claude Rains). All great and entertaining. Plus it contains lines like these.
MAID MARIAN (sounding quietly outraged): You speak treason.
ROBIN: Fluently my lady.
Great movie
