I dunno, from that clip I'm not really sold on Combs. That was pretty emotive of him, and in Watchmen Rorschach doesn't break out of his monotone until his very last line. I mean, he's still primarily Kovacs pretending to be Rorschach until that one crime he investigates, but still. The eerie monotone is key.

I don't think Jeffrey Combs is incapable of speaking in monotone, Johnny.  My biggest concern is whether he could pull off the physical aspects of the role as well as the voice.

I don't see Ray Liotta as the Comedian.  And I definitely don't see Joaquin Phoenix as Nite Owl.  I'm sticking by my John Cusack pick.

Jennifer Connelly could conceivably do a good Silk Spectre, though.

Not as good as Sevigny.
