No.  I am right-handed in most things, as was one Johnny Allen Hendrix, however at a young age I broke my left arm about two and a half inches above the wrist.  Now my left wrist won't turn enough to fret effectively; picking is problematic, too, but only slightly.  I started playing right-handed, and I had learned to play guitar reasonably well, but after five years and the end of puberty (that last little growth spurt was the tipping point on fretting with my left hand), I decided it was time to switch.  It was a very difficult process, learning to play all over again, but I stuck with it and am now much more proficient at most things playing left-handed than I am at playing right-handed.  I do still play right-handed from time to time, but after about fifteen minutes I have to put the guitar down.  I find my playing much more interesting when playing left-handed, anyway

My wife and I are both lefties that play right-handed. I started on the 5 string banjo. I've never seen a lefty one of those. When she took up the bass I told her to just learn right-handed as she'd have a hell of a lot more options as far as instruments go. Plus I like having my dominant hand on the fretboard. After a lifetime of using right-handed scissors, power tools etc... it seems like really no big deal. If that is the sort of thing that hangs you up, you should probably take up piano. I have recently met 3-4 right handed folks that play left handed, though. One was a trumpet player that it made sense to just flip the guit over and play lefty. Another taught himself to play as a toddler on a toy guitar and when he took lessons they tried to make him play righty. But he'd already taught himself to play left handed. Visually I always like the image of the guitar/bass being opposed in their handedness. You know one guitar pointing one way, another pointing the other.

Just for amusement, left-handed piano. And opposition.

--- Quote from: Patrick on 04 Feb 2009, 00:40 ---Man, I divebomb the living shit out of mine. The biggest problem is that the arm is so long, and so as a result, when you shove the handle all the way into the pickguard, you really don't do a whole lot. Maybe a full step on the high E, and 7 steps on the low E. On a Strat, you'd have all 6 strings sucked into the pickups before you even got within 3 inches of the guard.

Another thing that kindof irks me is that when I bring it above and below the center to do a good, even tremolo, the damn thing likes to go "CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK" and the shock of that whole thing travels all the way through the strings, just like when you play behind the bridge. It's great for when I want to make noises (which is often enough to where I haven't bothered fixing it), but if I want a noiseless tremolo it kindof pisses me off.

What Jag did you endup getting again? Also, do you have any idea where the clicking is coming from?

Hahaha. I tell you makes me insane. Visiting someone's pc to help them with a problem and they have the mouse buttons reversed. I swear it almost causes me to have a seizure.
