My life needs more P-90's, since the pickups on the Jazzmaster aren't REALLY P-90s.

Well..no. They're just single-coil pickups that were specially designed for a Jazzmaster. From what I've heard, the CIJ Jazzmaster pickups are actually more similar to Strat pickups than say, AVRI or vintage Jazzmasters. P-90s are a whole different species.
(other solution: give me yr Jazzmaster)

just got my epiphone tuned down to C. For anything doomy, droney, death-y or doom/deathy, man, it's amazing! And when you drop the lower string down to Bb it's extremely good times. I can finally play along to The Angelic Process now, yay!
Pics of my guitars:
Gibson Les Paul <333333
Terrible photo, but man, this is such a good guitar. The bass response is just astounding, truly fearsome low end. This is pretty ideal for me, as the two tones I generally use are a really bassy, thick sort of distortion, or a really bassy, thick clean sound. I don't do a lot of strumming.
Epiphone Explorer
Obviously not as good a guitar but a lot of fun. I originally bought the guitar solely because it's the shape Hetfield plays, but turns out that the explorer is a pretty neat guitar shape as is. Nice distortion sound and the neck pickup has a surprisingly nice clean tone, very Mogwai-ish sounding.
I would post pics of my amp, but it's just a Marshall MG50.. quite embarrasing, really. I'll pick up a new one soon-ish, either an orange or something more esoteric. Pedalwise, I've got a Vox Bulldog distortion pedal (don't use it much with my current amp), a Digitech reverb and a Roland Space Echo, which is a seriously quality delay unit.

Man, C standard is such a solid tuning for drone metal.

I'm probably going to buy either an epiphone explorer or sg soon. Any reasons why i shouldn't?

Explorers are a little tacky unless you seriously rock? I can't complain if you're getting a G-400, though. Solid guitars.
