Spluff:
Why would you want to play anything Hetfield plays? The only pro is that it isn't Kirk Hammett.

Well, it's a fact that Hetfield circa '87 is the peak of music. So I think it's pretty obvious, really.

What? Hetfield circa '87 isn't even the peak of Metallica, much less music that don't suck :-P
NotAFanOfFenders:
I like the old Metallica better than 'the new one' but I still think they're awesome.
Also metallica was one of the few good things in metal in the 80's and are therefore awesome.
Awesome.

i was thinking about the iommi as well but i prefer dot inlays over fancy, schmancy crosses.
And in my book tackyness is a plus (up to a certain point).
Thank for the replies by the way.

Well that and the Iommi is 24 frets. Makes the neck pickup sound a little different because it's placed closer to the bridge. (Doesn't Lunchy have an Iommi G-400 for some weird reason?)
Also, I don't think Hetfield when I think Explorer. I think of that goofy-haired bastard from Coheed and Cambria. Do you really want to be like him?
Edit, going by what you're saying, Matt, I was messing around with what I believe was a C/G chord last night.
