Here Come The Ba****ds
« on: 18 Aug 2007, 10:43 »

I'm writing a concept album for my band called "Here Come The Bastards", based off the Primus song of the same name. I've started to write down a lot of ideas for songs, so far 16, and 5 songs on the album will probably be covers. Here are 2 we might do.

Here Come The Bastards- Primus
Wake Up (It's 1984)- Oingo Boingo

The album takes place 30 or 40 years in the future, where a robotic biker gang simply called "The Bastards", are crusing their way to a city somewhere in...idk...MA? The first part of the album goes through the main characters lives, as they go about their merry lives, oblivious to The Bastards oncoming attack. All except Mitch, a 29 year old who suffers from severe schizophrenia, which is shown through his music, and the music on the album. One song, "Trash of The Titans" is this acoustic number, until it cuts through to the next track "Exploitations of Explorations" is this blowout of horns and keyboards. Mitch is a curbside prophet, who trys to warn everybody about The Bastards, but no one takes him seriously because his schizo ways and the fact that he's basically a hobo with a guitar in the eyes of everyone else. Second disc is when The Bastards actually attack and...well, I don't wanna give it away yet. It's basically Pink Floyd's "The Wall" shoved in a blender with The Flaming Lips' "Clouds Taste Metallic". Can't wait to actually record the fucker.

But now, I would like you guys to chime in with ideas if you have any. On how to construct the album, or if this song should be like this and that song should be burnt into the ground. Give me your opinions, ideas, comments, ANYTHING. I'm open to anything.

That is all.

Sounds like it should be an oi album, from the title.

That sounds like an anthemic, rocking metal piece for a montage scene in the potential sequel to 300.
