I am fairly sure that you mean the sea wasp, cubozoa (also known as the box jelly, Carybdea marsupialis). They are the most deadly creature on earth; they have enough venom to kill 60 men. Lifeguards in Australia have supposedly used stockings to protect against these deadly stings, since with even a tiny bit of fabric covering your arm, you are protected.

(I spent finals week reading my school's 11 volume encyclopedia of aquatic life instead of studying.)

Also there are too many imaginary creatures here. I'm disappointed, I had hoped that we could compile a really awesome list of marine life to be aware of. Oh well.

I imagine this is a pretty effective defense. I know I would be frozen in shock if someone barfed a lung at me, giving them ample time to escape.
