Sea Creatures That You Should Probably Be Aware Of

jmrz:
Why do I have to live in a country with so many dangerous killing machines for animals?

Someone kidnap me and take me somewhere safe.

That's okay Katie, you know I will always love you. The seahorse is, in fact, real; I think it looks cut-and-paste because it has a sort of white film around it. It is actually that small, though:

I can't wait to take all this knowledge with me when I start Intro. to Ocean Science next month!

That Blue-Ringed Octopus really is cute, and also reminded me of Zach's comic about them: http://www.animalshaveproblemstoo.com/view.php?id=308

Octopi are REALLY fascinating animals. Try to ignore the lame narrative:

1. They attack sharks.

2. The cyanea octopus is a MASTER OF DISGUISE.

3. The amel octopus can amputate its tentacles when in danger, in order to escape, and they grow back.

4. They can squeeze through tiny spaces.

BONUS! Octoporn!

Ally:
That narration is terrible enough to be comic! Octopi are so smart, though. My mom watched a tv show about how smart they are and now she is in love with them and will probably someday bring one home.

Also, unfortunately octoporn does not mean the lovechild of an octopus and a unicorn.

Also, whale sharks are so cool.

They are ridiculously big but only eat teeny tiny things (like most whales). Still, you should probably be aware of them because look at how large that mouth is! They are pretty playful though and maybe someday you will make friends with one. It is estimated that their life span is from 70 to 180 years!
