Bratz!: the movie
« on: 16 Jul 2007, 07:26 »

Was reading through some previous threads and saw someone made mention of seeing the Bratz trailer.

I saw the trailer, and dear god the sheer awfulness of it! I know I'm not the target audience but ten seconds into the trailer I started wishing it would end. Normally a trailer either gets me really excited, interests me, puts me off completely or gets no real response at all. This, however, was painful, I was begging for it to stop, and it just kept going, bear in mend this is two and a half minutes of the films HIGHLIGHTS. I would honestly rather watch High School Musical on a constant loop until the day I die, than have to experience that trailer ever again.

No, the Bratz trailer exists. It is as real as AIDS. It is as real as the atrocities of Idi Amin. It is as real as death, cold and permanent.

The Bratz movie is way more serious about not fucking around than that fickle newsbox, for sure.

More than anything else, this needs to be answered:

For the love of all that is good in the world, WHY?

I....I actually cry everytime I see the trailer, it makes me that angry

I was okay with the cartoon because I thought it would fail and they would get the hint and just drop it and focus more on making the dolls not like Barbie, but they still see this as a profitable venue.  I think that Mattel may become desperate and make a Barbie movie.  Fear this, for it shall open a portal into hell and summon forth demons most foul

A Barbie movie.
You mean like this, this, and this?

Or does animation assuage the pain?

You have to admit though, Ghandi and his cause does look like a cakewalk next to that.

You have an alarming amount of faith in the Academy.

The world will be a much better place once this movie has been shown in theaters and done with. Think of it as a cinematic enema.

I don't know about that kaktion. Enemas ar necessary for one's health sometimes. I just saw the Bratz trailer and....I feel like it will be more of cinematic/brain cell genocide. I can't see anything good coming out of this. If it makes an even remote profit, we'll be seeing more of these. And then can live action Barbie and Polly Pocket really be that far behind? No, this does not bode well. Not at all.

you need shitty movies to make people realize there are still good movies out there. You need shitty movies to make directors realize they shouldn't be able to get away with making shitty movies.

anyways, whomever thought that bratz was a good idea should be quartered and hung. All his/her directoral credibility is forever gone.

Or you know everyone could realize what crap most movies being produced today are and maybe try reading something called a book? Just a suggestion. Well I don't think all movies are crap. The only movies I recently enjoyed were V for Vendetta and Hot Fuzz, most other movies I saw were just kinda dumb.
I haven't watched the trailer but I know how excruciatingly bad that series is... great more prosti-tots!

That's my point. This movie'll make money. That's why it's bad. Because then other people will try to get away with equally horrible ideas for movies. And they will too.
