ThePQ4:
Has anyone seen this yet?? I bought it just because of Rupert Grint, to be totally honest, but I'm realy glad that I did! I loved it!
The synopsis on the back of the DVD says this:
--- Quote ---Laura Linny stars as Laura Marshell, an overzelous evangelical christian do-gooder who fills her home with down-and-out boarders, including a senile, cross-dressing murderous mute. Desperate to expand his horizons, Laura's shy teenaged son Ben (Rupert Grint) lands a job tending to self-proclaimed "Dame" Evie Walton (Julie Walters), and over-the-hell actress with the mouth of a drunken sailor and an insatiable lust for life. The battle for Ben's soul begins as Evie shanghies Ben away from his repressive roots and takes him on an adventure that transforms him from boy to man --almost over his raving mother's dead body!
--- End quote ---
Which...is a decent synopsis. You don't see as much about the mother as you would suspect, what with it mentioning her first. It's more about Ben and Evie, and how meeting certain people can change your view of the world, and how you live. Anyway, I really liked it, and just wondered if anyone else had picked it up.
You can also read about it on IMDB
0bsessions:
Okay, so Ron Weasley's mom "transforms him from boy to man."
Does anyone else find this the least bit unsettling?
And good luck to this kid EVER growing out of that role.
ThePQ4:
Actually, it was Michelle Duncan (Byrony) that "transforms" him. Evie helps him along on a more psychological level.
And I have to say this: At least Rupert Grint has done another film besides Harry Potter since starting, seriously. Ooh, Daniel did a play --but it's not like everyone on the planet can see that. I argued about this last night with BK. I'm not going to get into it again.
Blue Kitty:
he'll always been Ron Weasly
ALWAYS
ThePQ4:
Only until HP isn't cool any longer, and he moves on to better things and people are like, "Ron Who?"
Shut up and go watch this movie darn it,
