JimmyJazz:
Saw the film last night. I thought it was superb.  The pre-movue short was good too. Mind you, this and The Life Aquatic do not have the quality of his first three masterpeices, but they are still  wonderfully quirky, compassionate and original. The dialogue puts some people off, but I feel it adds to the insecurities of the characaters and the quasi-realistic framework in which his movies take place. Heh, and the best part was definately the scene where they get kicked off the train. " I love you too, but I'm gonna mace you in the face!"

Darby Crashed:
I think that the high point of that entire movie was the single shot of Adrien Brody running after the train in slow motion while "This Time Tomorrow" plays.

That is not to say that I didn't love the rest of the movie (I saw it twice), but it is just the perfect shot in that movie.
Kind of like the shot of Margot getting off the bus to meet Richie in the Royal Tenenbaums. Its a perfect moment.

Also, I thought that, while the movie was great, that the short film prequel, The Hotel Chevalier, was fdsgdsPERFECT.

Johnny C:
This movie is so good.

Liz:
Yes it is Johnny, yes it is.

Johnny C:
It's so interesting to watch Anderson's studied, organized Western aesthetic collide with the colourful chaos of India. The resulting film makes it look like everyone involved had fun with it.

Though I must say, Hotel Chevalier greatly outstrips the film.
