Get them here.

I like your version, but it sounds the exact same as an acoustic version of Coldplay doing it I got my hands on, bar a little guitar work at the end. Sorry....

Johnny C:
Then they managed to unfuck one of their own songs.

Bully for them, I suppose.

Johnny C:
Here is my project proposal in its entirety.

--- Quote ---I plan to arrange and record a number of AM radio songs - colloquially known as "yacht rock" - in a style that I find interesting. The learning materials I require are largely the songs themselves, which I will then attempt to re-interpret. Documentation will come through recorded songs, performance and a weblog which I will update whenever I record a new song. I aim to record one song every two weeks. This is enough material for a short live set and certainly enough to draw from in the future.

The challenges I might face are personal attachments to the song, time commitment and feelings of being restricted. I'm not as concerned about the latter two, because if I set a deadline for songs I'm likely to complete them and if I feel restricted by the guitar I can always touch up the recording with another instrument, vocal overdubs or other additional lines, though I'm going to make sure it remains guitar-centric. Having a personal attachment to the song, however, is another problem entirely; after all, nobody wants to fix something they don't think is broken. I'll try to pick songs based on a theme, genre or artist that I am less fond of so that I won't be afraid of drastically altering them.
--- End quote ---

The first song is going to be either "Ride Like The Wind" by Christopher Cross or "What A Fool Believes" by the Doobie Brothers.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Chocolate Rain. I am actually thinking of doing this one myself on electric guitar.

There is also the option of "Whiskey Lullaby" because I don't like Brad Paisley and I especially hate Allison Krauss. But it is such a good song! If you were to do it in a different key (I am not certain of your vocal range but you seem to like it higher than Paisley) I am sure you could put out a pretty excellent version of this.

Johnny C:
Sorry, maybe I should have made the criteria a bit clearer. I'm aiming for the 70's and 80's style exemplified by the bands in the Yacht Rock series. See: America, Steely Dan, and to an extent Fleetwood Mac. The goal is smooth, commercial music that I'm going to try and give a soul to.
