Personal Game Reviews and Reccomendations

Kana:
Just saw this post, must've missed it before.  Just to note I'm on Leviathian server as well - Natsuko.  I recently restarted playing and am actually enjoying myself.  I knew there was a reason why I disliked all MMOs after it, poor design compared to SE's version, although it is starting to show some age.  I hear they have a new MMO in the works, so let's see what that is I spose.  Anyways, shoot me a /tell if you're on.

TomorrowByStorm:
F.E.A.R and the Expansion F.E.A.R Extraction Point are excelent FPS Games. It's got a great Creepy Atmosphere and fun Gameplay. It's a little repetitive at times but the story line does a good job of keeping you interestedSTALKER: Shadow of

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is the Oblivion of the FPS world. Almost completely free roam you can do most anything you want right from the start...as long as it involves shooting people. But again (like all FPS) it can get a bit repetitive.

Lately I've been playing a lot of Enchanted Arms for the PS3 and so far it's pretty enjoyable. The Battle system is a refreshing mix of a turn based grid (very FFT) and customizable abilities. Voice acting is pretty shite, and there seem be a few programing bugs in the orriginal release. The story, however, is interesting.

I played FFXI for quite some time, and I think it's a good game but I wouldn't ever recommend it to someone without some hefty qualifiers. It's simply not something I would ever seriously consider playing again without having a static party of fairly reliable people to work with. I would describe the game as the Anti-CoH; FFXI's design team has a clear vision of what they want the game to be like, and that vision has little room for quick fixes and solo play. It can be very rewarding with the right mindset and some good friends, but it emphasizes many of the very same qualities that make some people equate MMORPGS with having a second job due to the heavy emphasis on grinding and equipment hoarding. It's definitely an unapolegetic, fully realized game world though, and that's definitely something to be proud of. SWG ruined itself by caving too quickly and trying to please everyone, and that's not something you have to fear with FFXI (which I believe is the reason that so many people remain so darn loyal to the game).

KvP:
If anyone enjoyed Planescape: Torment (and they should have) then I highly recommend the expansion to Neverwinter Nights 2, entitled Mask of the Betrayer. It's co-written by the same guy who wrote PS:T, and in general the quality approaches PS:T's, without the intimidating quantity. It fixes most of the problems people had with NWN2 as well, and feels leaner and more complete. Even the poison heart of CRPG fandom harbors love for this game.

The... The Codex liked something?

That's similar to the more nefarious members of NMA expressing their love of Fallout 3.
