I'm Not an Opera Fan...

But, even I'm saddened by the death of Pavarotti!

Yahoo!News has a nice article w/ a short biography on him. Check it out.

Does it make me a nerd that even though this is the music thread, I automatically thought you were talking about the internet browser?

Yes, that is sad news.

There is an internet browser called Pavarotti? Crazy!

I got chills watching that video! That's how good he was --and I love the sound of that crowd. He had a lot of fans and appreciators.

The BBC did a very good piece on him this morning if any one wanted to check it out.  I am sure it would be available on npr.org or bbc.co.uk or as a pod cast on iTunes.

:( He was very gifted.

After reading the article, he's been battling cancer for over a year, so at least he's not in pain anymore.

Man, that guy was so awesome.  So talented.  He and his art will be missed.

When I was a kid, I liked Pavarotti because he was the guy with the beard, and beards were awesome. Then I started liking him because he was the best at what he did.

RIP.
