StaedlerMars:
it's beautiful.

i felt it had to be done

Jackie Blue:
Wow, I've never even heard the named "James Blunt" before.

I live in my own little pop-culture bubble.  PJ Harvey is the bartender and Nick Cave is the house band, and Conor Oberst is always spilling drinks on underage girls.

If I remember, James Blunt liked it, but the execs didn't, so it wasn't put on the album.

This has been around for a while though, if I'm not mistaken.

ALoveSupreme:
At least since September.

When I saw him live, he claimed he had written a new theme for Home Improvement and it was a parody of the Friend's theme, with lyrics to the notion of "I'll repair for you."  I never saw that one released either, and at the time I was quite a superfan.

I think a good number of us on the forums have this problem. I'm still insanely shocked when I discover that a band I thought was really popular is almost unheard of.

While I wouldn't listen to Weird Al given the choice, he can be very witty. Unfortunately, by the time his albums get released, his jokes are old. Still, he is an incredibly talented vocalist. His original compositions are far funnier than his parodies, and usually timeless.
