I can neither comfirm nor deny that. Although some of the girl from my school who participated in an exchange with a school in Norfolk, Virgina weren't all that attractive. But we can still blame that on the teacher's bad taste.
I realized that it is a translation that you're reading, but as i said, it doesn't make much sense to me. It's like reading a translation of Shakespeare in German class.

Generally speaking, in English speaking countries (the UK, US, Australia, Canada etc...) English may also simply refer to Literature since basic grammar and spelling would be attended to during primary school. Basically what I am saying is that it is not that uncommon to read translated Western texts for English classes.

I am pretty sure that's just how most German chicks look. Or maybe the good-lookin' ones are all in downtown Trier and scattered on the road from the Luxembourgish-German border to the gates outside of Bitburg AFB.
I swear going through that gate was like going from a steady whiskey buzz to COMPLETE SOBRIETY.
