So, the new Foo Fighters record has been announced.  here is the tracklisting (Stolen from Ultimate Guitar)

01. The Pretender
02. Let It Die
03. Erase Replace
04. Long Road to Ruin
05. Come Alive
06. Stranger Things Have Happened
07. Cheer Up Boys, Your Makeup Is Running
08. Summer’s End
09. The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners
10. Statues
11. But Honestly
12. Home

now, the only thing from this i've heard is The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners, which was pretty cool.  ok, so will this be as good as some of their past efforts? will it be better than One by One?  Are the Foo Fighters suffering from Metallica Syndrome where they can write any crap and it will sell?

Release date: September 25

Laughing at the title of track 7, but...admittedly, that was my only reaction.

I wonder how many of the songs from this album will end up being played in some American Eagle. (Not a hipster dismissal, but an honest thought; they've been getting more and more accessible lately)

Expect lots of screaming, perversely fast computer drums and guitars tuned to FUCK

I thought this thread was about a new Explosions in the Sky release due to the title.

Pffft, it's not nearly long enough.  It would have to be "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace on The Road To My Epiphany, Last August"

The Foo Fighters have sadly fallen into a rut. The single tells me that this will not be the album that pulls it out.

Grohl and co. ought to really take a break for a little while.

I don't get this band.  You have four brilliamt musicians making mediocre songs with horrible lyrics.

The only good thing about it is that William Goldsmith is no longer the drummer, so now only Nate Mendel remains to rape Sunny Day Real Estate's memory with a footnote that reads "Bass Player Nate Mendel currently plays in the Foo Fighters."  Which is depressing, because unlike Goldsmith who tried to play in both bands, Mendel actually left Sunny Day to play in the Foo Fighters.
