Nobody Understands!
made from ribs:
definitely the midget.

Gryff's post never fail to brighten my day!
seņor Gryff is indeed very lucky man! maybe something to do with age of he and his peers? I hope one day to live like Gryff.
while the stories in my first post, and my attitude were greatly exaggerated for the sake of the thread, they are all true, and I've known a lot of people who would refuse to hang out with me for not liking pantera. of course, most of these instances occured when I was about 14, so it's to be expected that we would act like children.
it took me years to figure out that a friendship isn't something based on common interest, but something based on mutual respect and understanding. show people a level of respect and this 'problem' wouldn't exist.
unfortuately, when you're 14 people seem to work on this 'if you want my respect, earn it' bullshit that I'm not too fond of. it's a problem that'll go away with time as people start to grow up!
Tehz:
Today, I had an experience that is relevant to this thread.
This girl in my class asked me about my Modest Mouse shirt for some reason, and then asked me to list some bands that I'm into. I listed "Modest Mouse, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, The Pixies...", and she just blankly nodded the entire time. About four or five bands in, she cut me off and asked if I liked some emo/pop band that I'd never heard of, and when I said no, she just changed the topic.
*sigh*
Spinless:
this is a situation where you should have changed the topic before it started and asked what food she was into!
jimbunny:
People ask me what kind of music I like, and it's awkward sometimes.
