Runaways

DanteShepherd:
Thank God Joss finally finished his arc - he cannot keep to a deadline no matter what project he seems to be working on.

That being said, I've seen the cover for Moore's first issue, and the dropoff in quality is so stark its startling.  Plus, the Runaways are being forced into another crossover storyline, which is weird because they are basically the anti-superhero team.

0bsessions:
Apparently you've never heard the expression "never judge a book by its cover."

Humberto Ramos, while a bit quirky, is absolutely perfect for a book like Runaways. Personally, I can't wait to get an iteration of this title that's on some semblance of a timely schedule. I am sick to fucking death of Whedon, at this point.

Illumilatte:
I'll have to check out Runaways sometime...perhaps I can find a friend who has it. Right now I'm reading through Fables, which is probably my favorite. Also, Y: The last Man book 10(the last one) comes out July 1st :) Woo.

DanteShepherd:
Hey, I know we shouldn't judge books that way, but that's what drove Whedon to pick up issue #1 of Runaways and made him a fan.  Maybe I'm just disappointed that we don't have Alphona's work anymore?  The contrast in style is just a little . . . overpowering.

0bsessions:
We haven't had Alphona in over a year. Michael Ryan's been doing the art chores for Whedon's run.

As far as Whedon becoming a fan, in all honesty, I wish it never happened. The guy's a hack when it comes to comics. It took him over a year to put out six issues of Runaways and his story was easily the worst arc so far of the title. I'm excited to finally get some new blood on it.
